This glass was hand cut to size and placed on top of a piece of crystal clear sheet glass cut to the same size. The prepared dish was then fired in the kiln over a 24 hour period. (***The glass was gradually heated up to just over 800 degrees Celsius, then cooled down very slowly to ensure that it annealed fully. This enabled the glass to strengthen and ensured its durability). (The glass was cut in a way to mimic the flow of water). I then placed this glass on a clear glass base and added crystal clear glass frit (crushed glass). After assembling the piece, it was placed in the kiln and subjected to a contour fuse. This allowed the individual pieces to fuse together but still retain some of their original shape and texture. The glass panel was then cold-worked before being fired once more. This glass was hand cut to size and placed on top of a piece of crystal clear sheet glass cut to the same size. A narrow strip of transparent silver grey glass was added to one side, to provide decorative interest. The prepared dish was then fired in the kiln over a 24 hour period. (***The glass was gradually heated up to just over 800 degrees Celsius, then cooled down very slowly to ensure that it annealed fully. This enabled the glass to strengthen and ensured its durability).
