A gorgeous abstract aqua glass art ornament handcrafted in the Lake District; inspired by the natural landscape.

The freestanding minimalist wave (s curve) was handmade from transparent light aqua and crystal clear artisan glass. The colour of the aqua glass is very similar to that of turquoise with green undertones.

It is approximately 23 cm (L) x 6 cm (H) x 3 cm (D). The textured nature of the clear glass adds additional visual (and tactile) interest.

It is a stand-alone piece of glass art suitable for display on any flat surface, such as a mantlepiece, bookshelf, coffee table, bathroom shelf or windowsill.

It looks particularly stunning placed in front of a window or other direct light source, as the translucent nature of the wave allows natural light to shine through and reflect colour onto the surrounding surfaces.

It could be used in the evening as a table or shelf decoration with a tealight or small votive candle placed behind it.

A little more about THE HANDCRAFTED PROCESS: In order to create the wave, I first cut light aqua artisan sheet glass (by hand) into the desired shape. (The glass was cut in a way to mimic the flow of water). I then placed the aqua glass on a clear glass base and added crystal clear glass frit (crushed glass). After assembling the piece, it was placed in the kiln and subjected to a contour fuse. Next, it was cold worked before being fired once more. The panel was then placed in another kiln on top of a ceramic mould and fired a final time, in order to shape it into an s-curve.

PACKAGING: All items will be securely wrapped in bubble wrap and posted in a well padded box. Although not always feasible, whenever possible, I attempt to reuse packaging in order to reduce the environmental impact.
