An abstract teal glass art curve handcrafted in the Lake District; inspired by the natural landscape.
It is approximately 13.5 cm (W) x 6 cm (H) x 4.5 cm (D).
The small minimalist ornament was handmade from transparent teal and crystal clear artisan glass.
The textured nature of the clear glass that flows along the middle of the curve adds additional visual and tactile interest.
The curved ornament is a gorgeous piece of glass art suitable for display on any flat surface.
It looks particularly stunning placed in front of a window or other direct light source, as the translucent nature of the glass allows light to shine through and reflect colour onto the surrounding surfaces.
Alternatively, it could be used in the evening as a table or shelf decoration with a tealight or small candle placed behind it.
***As each curve is individually handcrafted, there will be some variation from the images shown. Please message me prior to purchase if you would like photos of the actual curve in stock.
A little more about THE HANDCRAFTED PROCESS: In order to create the curve, I first cut transparent teal artisan sheet glass (by hand) into the desired shape. (The glass was cut in a way to mimic the flow of water). I then placed this glass on a clear glass base and added crystal clear glass frit (crushed glass). After assembling the piece, it was placed in the kiln and subjected to a contour fuse. This allowed the individual pieces to fuse together but still retain some of their original shape and texture. The glass panel was then cold-worked before being fired once more. Finally, it was placed in the kiln on top of a ceramic mould and fired once more in order to shape the piece into a curve.
PACKAGING: All items will be securely wrapped in bubble wrap and posted in a well padded box. Although not always feasible, whenever possible I attempt to reuse packaging in order to reduce the environmental impact.
